How to clean jetsi in my jaccuzi?

I take a small scrub brush, similar to a toothbrush, and use white cleaning vinegar. Also, the salesman told me it would be good to occasionally run diluted bleach through it. I don't recall how long I've had mine but it was installed sometime in the 1980's. I've had no issues with it.

Is it a light discoloration or dark stain. I ask because the uv light sun exposure from a window above has discolored my outward jet plastic. It cannot be removed.

For ours the recipe for cleaning is cover the jets with cold water to the level you would have for cycling, Add 1 cup if bleach then cycle the tub. Drain it and then refill with just cold water, run the cycle and then drain.

I would consult the manufacturer about your problem of brown stains to see what they would recommend before attempting any special procedure, it may void your warranty.

I like to use soft scrub for a deep clean around the jets using a toothbrush.

There is a way to take off the jet caps so you can remove and soak them in a high concentrated cleaning solution to whiten them. Here is a video:

As for the cleaning solution to soak them in, you could use a bleach solution or a borax solution or a hydrogen peroxide solution. Anything to whiten! (Dangerous to mix all chemicals together though....follow a soaking whitening recipe)

What has happened is this is Scale. The calcium Chloride that we have to use to increase the hardness level unless your water already has it has reformed and is the color of brown from most likely Iron. Of course you most likely have other minerals in your water that can also make it this nice brown color. Now your Ph at some time has gotten high. Try and keep it on the lower range of 7.2-7.4 for a few months. If your using test strips to measure everything they can be very inaccurate. There's a big study going on right now about how bad all the testing out there is. The "titration" method of testing your tub is the best (using liquid drops) but you really need to take a sample to your hot tub store and test it n a monthly basis until you absolutely know your stuff. You need to use a bottle of "stain and scale" in your regular water treatment. Make use of your hot tub store for this. Looking at several stores computer testing stations I have been amazed at how they never clean nor re-calibrate their machines so they too can be off. Keep your strips away from heat/cold, keep them dry also and in a nice sealed place in a cabinet in your house, not outside. Do get a spa bug, or sponge to float and absorb the nasty stuff your filter doesn't pick up. A great product are spa wipes from spa essentials. I use on average 2 on each tub I visit to remove this nice brown line. If you didn't have so much minerals the color would be white. By the way a cheap way and great way to clean your spa is with distilled vinegar. Run it through your jets for 2 cycles then drain it immediately since it will not be good to let it sit in your tub for days. The low acid of it will clean off the calcium buildup.
