One of our Hometalkers shows you how here:
Spray adhesive can be found at any local store like Home Depot. Spray on lightly and toss cones into a bag of cinnamon and shake. Brush off excess with a soft make up brush.
Hello. I might suggest trying an essential oil spray or few drops for a scent inoculation.
Hi Anita. I'm glad you asked this question because I want to make them too. Here's how we do it. Place pine cones on a foil-lined baking sheet pan. Bake them for 30 mins at 200 degrees. Take them out of the oven and let them cool. Then place them in a zip lock bag and add 15 - 20 drops of cinnamon oil. Shake well to combine. Let them sit for 1 to 2 weeks. Good luck Anita. I hope you are well.
Hi! I've used the same pine cones for several years. I add essential oil to them it really lasts! I keep them in a ziploc freezer bag when I don't have them put. Good luck and stay safe!
You can buy the cinnamon fragrance oil to put on the cones. Just apply a couple of drops to each cones or place them in a bag and add some drops.
Here's another way to do this:
Add a bunch of ground cinnamon to a ziploc bag.
Take your pinecones and gently brush them with a very light coat of the watered-down glue so that all of the nooks and crannies are covered. Set the pinecone aside for a few minutes so that the glue can dry a little bit. You want the glue to be tacky, not totally dripping wet.
Then add the pinecones to the bag of cinnamon, close it up, and shake well to make sure cinnamon gets everywhere! Gently tap the pinecones over the bag to help shake off any loose cinnamon, then set them aside to dry for a few more minutes.
Here is a tutorial from a home talker:
You could use Mod Podge and sprinkle cinnamon on before it dries. Have fun!
what a coincidence, I am writing a post on that next week, when i'm done ill send it to you. meanwhile you can use this, maybe you can find some at Wwalmart https://amzn.to/33S1FzG
Hi Anita, I use cinnamon essential oils. You can find it at most any craft store or Walmar in the "aromatherapy" section. You simply sprinkle the oil onto the pine cones, place them a sealed plastic bag for a few days and the oils will infiltrate the cones. Wonderful when they are removed from the plastic and placed in bowls around your home.
