A neighbor was throwing out a strip of laminate flooring, so I grabbed it with a Fall sign in mind.

Wipe it down with a wet rag just to clean off any dust or dirt.

Print out your design

The first thing you need to do is decide on what you'd like on your sign. I found a fun pun I liked. Before you print, make sure you flip your image so it prints out backwards!!

Lay out your design

Make sure your design fits the surface nicely, and place them where you'd like them.

Then flip them over, so they are face down.

Mix water and glue

If you have Mod Podge you can use it for this step. I just mixed equal parts glue and water.

Paint a layer of the glue on the surface, and then place the image face down on it.

Press the paper down, and make sure the area where the ink is is perfectly pasted down. Then let it dry.

Peel off the paper

This step requires patience and can be tedious. The first thing to do is grab a wet rag. Wipe the paper down with the rag until it become semi transparent. Essentially, the goal is to remove the paper, while the ink remains on the surface.

Once the paper is wet, you can begin to peel it away with your fingers.

Do it slowly, so you don't accidentally rip off the ink. Any areas that came off, I filled in with a black sharpie.

Tah Dah! I love it.

You can also see how I made these little pumpkins in my profile!

Most laminate I’ve seen has been tongue and groove snap in. Did you do anything with the edges?
