Hi Micelle, this may not be what you're thinking of doing but I used a styrofoam wig holder. I used a sharp knife to cut a hole in the top of the head large enough to hold a small planter, but then decided rather than live plants I'd use faux succulents so just pushed there stems into the area and around the edges of the area I'd cut. I painted the head with teal craft paint, added sunglasses, and a necklace. I gave it to my daughter who has it in her bathroom and she receives many compliments on it. Sorry that I don't have a picture to include here. You may be looking for something more permanent such as ceramic.
