Some nice ideas in this link:
Hi Terry here are several different plans: https://www.wcmanet.org/how-to-make-window-shutter/ Have you considered checking out your local salvage yard? Sometimes you can get shutters very inexpensively at a place like that.
I have a friend who does the type of shutter that is 3 boards (1x4?) vertical with 2 boards horizontal to tie them together. He then decorates to look like snowmen or paints Christmas trees or pumpkins. Pretty much just limited by your imagination. Here are some he did before he started building his own. I think he got these at a salvage yard.
I've seen wooden letters attached, bows, and greenery.
Oh I recently saw a shutter angel for Christmas, it was so cute.
and, ....Where is the angel?
Maybe she flew away.....
here is info on making a shutter but a lot of times you can find them for very cheap at salvage yards, yard sales, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji02xoF2ytE
There are some good decorating ideas here;
Hello. If you want to make indoor shutters for decorative features this week might be helpful.
Buy or make single bi fold type doors! You can make a shutter of any description if you first make a frame the size you want and then fix to it fabric , timber, Radiator cover board, Wire or Plastic Netting, and decorate to suit!
