paint them and make Christmas ornaments
A few more ideas for your spools:
Use three large and one small and a bare wooden knob. Glue all together with smallest spool on top of other three then knob on the very top. Paint like a soldier painting the face on the smaller one, and using the knob for the hat. Add two popsicle sticks for arms and make Christmas soldiers in your favorite colors or red white and blue.
Put on a board and use as a jewelry hanger.
Arrange and affix for a holiday decoration like pumpkin or Christmas tree.
I like to paint them and use them as little Christmas tree bases. They work perfectly for bottle trees.
Christmas ornaments...they're great to create with...big and small.
Hi Dagmar: I've made dolls from them, glued them to the bottom of flower pots to make little legs, screwed them to a board through the holes, and made hangers for jewelry, handbags, belts, etc. Good luck
Scroll through some of these ideas - there are some really good ideas:
If they are small thread spools, paint them and use for garland on a fireplace or Christmas tree
Make dollhouse furniture out of them - tables or end tables. This post also has lots of great ideas: http://craftingagreenworld.com/2017/01/03/green-crafting-posts-2016/

Hi! I wrap them with ribbon and small pices of lace. I have also used them to lift a small item off a surface when I am painting . Good luck!
They are great to use as bases for small trees, to make ornaments.
