Rustic Teal Kids Table and Chairs

This little table and chair set have seen better days. There are stickers and dings and dents but it is lightweight wood and made by a reputable manufacturer. A complete makeover was in order.

This was a gorgeous day in November, not typical for Canada.. it totally called for the table to be hauled outside and power sanded back to the bare wood.

The rest of the table edges and the chairs were hand sanded to smooth all the chips and dings with a Dixie Belle sanding sponge .

I started staining the top a color of  Dixie Belle Voodoo Gel Stain called temptress.

The base and chairs were first painted a coat of  Dixie Belle paint called mermaid tail and when dry a coat of Dixie Belle paint in pure ocean.

Wanting to add more rustic charm to the piece I layered a coat of tobacco road Dixie Belle Voodoo Gel Stain. When it dried another coat of the temptress was applied, lightly sanded and a coat of Dixie Belle Gator Hide was put on with a Dixie Belle applicator sponge to seal it all well.

Wanting to add more green back to the chairs to go with the top I mixed the mermaid tail into the Dixie Belle's best dang wax in clear. All the painted areas and the stained top were waxed using it.

To add even more rustic country character Dixie Belle's best dang wax in brown was brushed in the creases and along the edges after distressing them with a Dixie Belle sanding sponge.

The entire set has a bold ocean coloring that oozes rustic country.
