If you have anyone in your family who likes Star Wars, this felt DIY ornament makes a great gift. It's easy and quick to make.

If you like baby Yoda, I have a tutorial for a baby Yoda tree topper. But if you just want to make an ornament, it's easy and doesn't require anything complicated. I stitched the one below but you could also glue it together.

Here are the steps to make your own:

1.) Draw out your pattern on cardboard. As you can see I'm not the best artist. I searched the web for drawings of baby Yoda and tried to copy one of those.

2.) Cut out the body in green felt. As soon as you have the first one, use that to cut a second green body.

Pattern and body

3.) Cut a brown rectangle for the robe. Cut it a little longer than the body so you can fold the top of the robe over. Baby Yoda wears a robe with a collar that folds over.

4.) Use the blanket stitch to stitch the body 3/4 closed. To learn more about how to do the blanket stitch see this video tutorial. If you'd rather not sew you can also use a glue gun to seal all of the layers together.

5.) Before you sew of glue the body closed stuff in some cotton or extra felt to make your Yoda a little fluffier.

6.) Cut two triangles out of felt. Glue on pink triangle ears.

7.) Glue on pom-pom eyes.

That's it. You're done! You can glue on a piece of burlap ribbon as the hanger.

If you want to make him look a little bit more festive, you can glue on a Santa hat with a little bit of red felt. Check out my post to see that version.
