For this, the seams must be open on the cover in order to use as much of the fabric as possible. In opening seams, if you can gently pull up the threads to free one of the threads up so you can grasp it with your fingers, then pull on the freed thread so it can easily be pulled through the fabric - it really makes opening the seams go much quicker! 

And then press to remove all the wrinkles.

Next, divide the ornament into eight segments using rubber bands.

And, using a paper towel, trace the outline of the rubber band to make a pattern of the segment to cut out from the checked fabric.

Then apply Fabri-Tac glue to the back of the fabric segments . . .

and attach to the ornament in the . . .

four quadrants 12-3-6-9 clock positions.

Next, apply strips of twisted twine with glue to define the segments and add strips of ribbon mesh (use segment pattern) to the exposed areas of the segments

Then paint Mod Podge over the ribbon mesh . . .

and sprinkle on a mixture of glitter, tube confetti and vase filler on the Mod Podge. Use the back of the plastic spoon to press the mixture down into the Mod Podge. Let dry completely.

Once dry, apply a layer of Mod Podge to seal.

Once the Mod Podge is dry, add glitter glue for additional sparkle and let dry.

And finally, add handmade bows to the top of the ornament to complete the look!
