Copper Pipe Christmas Ornament

Each year I try to make at least one unique ornament for our Christmas tree. This year I saw a copper plant holder and that's what sparked the idea for this ornament.

These are the supplies you'll need!

1/4 inch copper pipe - 2 feet

Pipe cutter

Twine

Greenery

Mark pipe for cutting

The 1/4 inch copper pipe bends easily so be careful to keep it as straight as possible. I have no idea how my pipe bent but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the project. For this ornament I marked the pipe 2 1/2 inches for the base and 4 inches for each side piece.

Cut the pipe

Cut the pipe carefully. Again, be careful not to bend it.

Ready for "construction"

You'll have 6 copper pieces total. Three pieces for the base and three pieces for the side. You'll also cut the twine approximately double the length of your cut pieces plus 6 inches to tie off and create a hanger. In this case, the twine is 4 1/2 feet long.

Put it all together!

Run the twine through each side and the base doubling back so that it's sturdy. Once you're done, tie a tight knot at the top of your ornament. Tie another loop a few inches up for hanging.

Add greenery

Arrange greenery as desired and glue in place with a glue gun.

great idea. It would be so much easier to follow the directions if the finished product was upfront.
