Anyone else collect reclaimed wood or have an abundance of scrap wood pieces handy?

Why not flip those scraps into charming mini Christmas trees?

DIY scrap wood Christmas trees are SO easy to make, fun to customize and the sky's the limit on the personality your own trees take on depending what scraps you use!

And of course, the more the merrier! More than one tree can become a forest or tree farm!

Here's how I turned a group of scrap wood trees into an enchanting Christmas tree farm....

Cutting the wood

A reclaimed wood black painted plank was cut at chosen angle, then the board flipped to the other side and cut again, to create a triangle.

A pallet board was cut to use as a tree farm base.

Decorating the trees

Since my board was already black, this effect looked cool...

The scrap wood Christmas trees were flicked with white paint to mimic snow.

So let's enhance this project with some added details next!

Adding stencil details to enhance

Find stencil - Mini Christmas Tree Signs HERE

The pallet plank base was stenciled with You Cut Tree Farm from Mini Christmas Tree Signs to further theme this project as a tree farm. What a perfect fit!

How to stencil:

  1. Load a stencil brush with paint
  2. Off-load most paint onto a rag to create a dry feeling brush
  3. Position stencil into place
  4. Tap or swirl brush over stencil for desired effect

Some of the trees were stenciled with Mini Christmas Patterns to create larger snowflakes for a little more contrast. They turned out adorable!

The finished tree farm!

Because my wood wasn't square on the bottom, L-brackets were added for stability. More info is in my original blog post tutorial link below.

And then it was time to set up the tree farm as desired!

Isn't this little Christmas scrap wood tree farm as cute as can be? Perfect for Christmas window sill decorating!

Think you'll whip up some scrap wood Christmas trees this season? What will yours look like?

Cute idea thank you for sharing. I was wondering if you thought to use dowels for a small tree trunk and glue ( not hot glue unless you want to take trees off and pack flat ) to the board or drill holes to push the dowels into?
