I purchased a beautiful natural looking cedar wreath earlier this month, and I wanted to add something to it, to make it look a little bit more decorated. I wanted something that was not overly themed as I plan to keep this wreath hung in my entryway through the winter season. My wreath looked very natural and real to begin with so I wanted to stick with that natural theme. I decided to try dried oranges and cinnamon sticks, and I’m so glad I did because I think that this wreath turned out so beautiful and it also smells incredible!

Make the Dried Orange Slices

Begin by preheating the oven to 200 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice a few oranges thinly (no more than 1/4 inch thick) and place them on the baking sheet. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours flipping the oranges every 30 minutes. I found it helpful to blot the oranges with paper towel before putting them in the oven to remove most of the moisture.

Gather your decorations

Next you want to gather everything that you might like to put on your wreath. I chose to keep it simple and use the orange slices, some cinnamon sticks and a simple pretty ribbon.

Glue on the decorations

Simply arrange the decorations on your wreath, and once you are happy with the placement hot glue to secure them.

Hang your wreath

To finish it off I tied a bow at the top of my wreath and hung it up in my entryway.

i love how I was able to dress up a simple store bough wreath with just a few simple materials that I already had on hand.

My home feels so cozy and welcoming every time I walk in. The smell of orange and cinnamon is the perfect holiday scent.
