I am imagining your farm well looks something like this:
If the image appears tiny, just right click on it and then left click to view image.
and you want to put a fence around it. A metal chain link fence would do the job, make it tall enough to stay within code for your area of the country. You also might want to put a locking gate on the door of the fence. A wood fence would also work but would require higher maintenance.
Hi Rosa, you could do several types of fencing, depends what look you are going for as well. Hope this link gives you some ideas,
Hi Rosa, this fence might be too open for what you need but here is an easy farm fence. Hope it helps... https://www.google.com/search?q=diy+farm+fence&rlz=1C5CHFA_enCA744CA744&oq=diy+farm+fence&aqs=chrome..69i57j0j0i22i30l6.3414j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=_Uaq6X-SPAb-t5NoPpZGRsAM10
Are you saying you have a Farm Well Water Fence you don't want anymore? Or are you saying YOU need one?
Not sure what you you mean by "farm well water fence".
Goggled it and nothing. What is a farm well water fence? A picture would be very helpful.
If you are wanting to put a fence around your well water on your farm, I would go with pickets and add a gate. We always had a house over ours because my dad would add chemicals to the water to make sure it was safe for drinking. We had iron in our water and he treated it every few days. It was a simple structure that I believe was probably built from 8 pieces of ply wood, framing lumber, and a door, with a roof. Two pieces of plywood for each side so it was an 8 x8.
I would think tall chainlink or privacy fence might be the way to go but I would totally instead bill a little "well house" its what my Grandpa did and it seems like the best way to keep it safe.
use a pallet -they are free!!!
We always had a small well house built over ours to keep the weather, leaves and critters out, and then you could hang a light to work on it at night when it inevitably went down and you need to prime and get it going.
thank you ALL so much, we just finished our 7 day compose and on to the well project. plywood & pallets and some prime here we come!
