Easy Cross Stitch Ornaments

I have something so cool to show you guys. I found some of those plastic woven placemats from Hobby Lobby on sale and snagged them up. I knew there were so many things that I could make with these and I couldn’t beat the price at less than .50 cents each. By using only half of a placemat, I was able to make the most adorable ornaments and I am so happy with how they turned out. These DIY Cross Stitch Ornaments will definitely be some of my favorite from this year.

First, you’ll want to download and print the alphabet printable.

You can find the printable on the blog post.

Trace a circle onto the placemat and cut out. You can always use circle plastic canvas pieces for this ornament also if you prefer.

Follow the patterns on the printable and start adding letters with your embroidery floss and needle.

Glue the circle to a piece of felt with a hot glue gun or craft glue and cut out.

Add a thin ribbon to the top of your ornament with your hot glue gun for hanging.

Glue a fancy ribbon around the ornament and finish with a bow!

These DIY Cross Stitch Ornaments are fun, colorful and I love the retro vibes they give off. They remind me of something my Mom would’ve made when I was a kid. Growing up, my Mom was always working on something new… usually something she could work on while she watched her soaps.
