Weathered Charcoal Grey Sofa Table

You can not go wrong with classic black can you? My last few projects have been done in a worn weathered finish and it started with this sofa table.

The shape and style is classic as well, it just needed a color injection.First step as always was to clean it well using soapy water with some  Dixie Belle white lightening cleaner and a scrub brush. Once it was all scrubbed it was rinsed with fresh water and dried with a towel.

I chose Dixie Belle paint in midnight sky; a deep charcoal color. One and a half (areas that were a bit thin got another coat) coats were perfect for the worn weathered finish I was going for.

The cane was easy to get a nice even coat on by misting with a mister bottle while brushing on.

Then after painting it all pretty I used a Dixie Belle sanding sponge on the high rub areas where everyday use tends to wear off the paint and distressed the edges for an authentic natural worn look.

To seal the paint and deepen the color, Dixie Belle Howdy Do Hemp Oil was brushed on using a Dixie Belle chip brush.

Allow it to saturate the paint and wipe off the excess after about 15 minutes. This oil adds a soft matte sheen that enhances the worn weathered look.

The beveled glass was shined up and put back in and it is ready to go.

What do you think?

It sold in short order to a lovely lady.

I Love this! I have a table very like this and have wanted to paint it but have been afraid of the brass. Did you have to do anything to the brass edging on the top? how do you get the paint to stick to it so it doesn't scratch off?

Beautiful. Especially like the final finish. Going to try it on a bench I have.

Have a favor to ask. Where did you get the horse sitting on the table. I am a horse lover and would love to add one like this to my collection. Live in Oklahoma on a ranch. Thank you for any help you can give me.
