The winter holiday season is here and in full swing! I love creating decor that fits in with the holiday aesthetic and has a special little twist. Have extra mittens?! Follow my simple, step-by-step guide below to get started on DIYing your own holiday-themed door hanger to add to your home. You can also watch the video on how these came together over here on HTTV!

Tools and materials:

Mittens

Poly-fill

Pine leaves

Red berries

Wood flowers from Oh You're Lovely

Let's Get Started!

Step: Stuff the mittens

To kick off this awesome DIY I started by filling up my mittens with poly-fill. I made sure to get some of the stuffing in the thumbs as well for extra security.

Add Your Greenery and Filler!

Step: Decorate

To decorate the door hanger for the holidays, I used a few stems of greenery and filler from our shop that fit so perfectly with the winter theme! Pull or cut the bundles down into single stems and start stuffing them into your mittens!

Bring in a Pop of Color!

For a pop of color, I added the red berries to the door hanger. They came attached on a wire stem so I just pulled a few at a time to spread the color.

Time for Your Wood Flowers!

To soften the look, I added these gorgeous neutral colored wood flowers to the door hanger. To stem the flowers is super easy. Add a little glue to the end of the wire and stick it in the bottom of the flower. To create the perfect aesthetic, I bent the wires so that the flowers would be front-facing.

And You're Finished!

This holiday-themed door hanger is a quick and easy craft that is perfect for the holidays! What other details would you add to this piece? Let me know in the comments below!

Cute, cute, cute and beautiful. This is so clever and well done. They're whimsical and at the same time sophisticated because of the holiday foliage you added.

And with big sales after the holidays, these types of mittens will be marked to a deep discount and smart to pick up a few pairs because these would make terrific gifts for friends or family next year. These decorative mittens could be hung just about anywhere in the house to add even more fun to the holiday season.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring!!
