Hi Marie, I'm wondering if you can order replacement seals on Amazon? Its a pretty specific kind of rubber that's pliable enough to "squish" but not so much that it won't totally seal properly. You could check the plumbing section of your local hardware / home improvement store. There might be a material you could cut a seal out of that would work similarly.
If the name is still on your canister set, you could contact the manufacturer.
Careful if you make one. The rubber needs to be specific and food safe
I would try to reorder from the manufacturer if at all possible. That would make sure you have a secure seal if you are putting items in there that need to be fresh (my basic assumption). If you don't know who the mfg. is, I would probably replace it completely. The last thing you want is something in contact with your food that could get you sick.
I'd check with the manufacturer, see if they sell just the rings. I know I've seen them sold separately.
Different canisters come in different sizes. You need to find the size and manufacturer of what you have. Go to Amazon and put that info in the search bar or contact the manufacturer directly.
There are four types of rubber that are FDA approved food safe. Always good to read the packaging
