Make my slipcover fit my club chair better?

I purchased a slipcover for my club chair in living room. The slipcover has too much material around the arm/back area. I am not a seamstress by any means. Do you have any suggestions. I think you addressed this once by cutting and using fabric glue and thought I had saved but not able to locate. Thank you Brenda S,

Not a fan of fabric glue for strength like a chair where the material gets stretched tight. Try turning the cover inside out. Pull the material towards the seam on either side evenly and pin where it is snug. You could also make a seam in the middle of the back. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can hand stitch. Just take your time and make small even stitches. When you turn the cover back over it should fit perfectly.
For the best hold, I would sew it. Pull the fabric tight where you want it, pin it, and then sew a seam. I'm no seamstress either, but it should be a simple seam.

Put the cover on the chair (Inside out) . Take some pins or safety Pins and pin the excess so the cover fits smug. If you can do a running stitch or better still a back stitch., Follow the line of the pins. Fasten off. You can take them out now. Turn the cover back into the right way. and there you have it. No need to remove access unless you want to.
Could you pin it or use safety pins in areas where they won’t show?
Slip cover pins. They are cheap and work very well (I have used these myself).

Hello. I’ve had the same problems and my solution was using a pool noodle.
If you can stuff a cut sized appropriate pool noodle in the crack of the furniture with the slip cover at tends to hold it down more securely.If the pool noodle is too fat try slicing and a half with a retractable’s safety razor.
We used dowels cut to the size of the chair to hold the slip covers in place with the slip cover pins.
I purchased decorative upholstery tacks to secure material on a stool. I got the idea from armchairs that my mother had professionally upholstered. They works great, look good, and are easy to use by simply pushing into place.
