This Christmas Cookie Bucket is a perfect DIY project to get the kids involved with. They can paint the clay pots, bake cookies, and gift them to the neighbors or anyone with a sweet tooth!

I would rate this as an easy DIY craft project. You only need a few simple materials, most of which you crafters already have on hand, too!

Materials:

  • 4” Tall Terracotta Clay Pot
  • White Chalk Paint
  • Crimson Chalk Paint
  • 1/2” Wide Black Nylon Webbing (or a Black Ribbon)
  • 3/4” Metal Washer

Tools:

  • Paint Brush
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors

For Gifting (optional):

  • Cookies
  • Cellophane bag
  • Ribbon
  • Gift Tag

Painting The Clay Pot

Paint the lower portion of the clay pot red with two coats of chalk paint.

After the red paint has dried, paint the rim both inside and out with white chalk paint.

Paint a white stripe vertically onto the red area. Use a dabbing technique along the outer edge of the stripe to make a fuzzy-looking appearance, like the fur on Santa's coat.

Add Santa's Belt and Buckle

Once the paint has dried, wrap and cut the nylon webbing around the pot about 3/4ths of the way down the red area. Cut the webbing to size and glue it in place.

Glue the washer onto the black nylon webbing where it meets the white stripe.

Fill With Cookies

Bake your favorite cookies and place them into a cellophane baggie. Use ribbon and a gift tag if you wish. Place the baggie into the clay pot and it's ready to gift!

Alternatively, you can fill the pot with anything you like. Flowers, tissue paper, and or other decor items. Use your imagination!
