How do I keep cats out of the Christmas tree although it is imitation?

You can try putting citrus slices or pine cones around the base. Most cats hate the smell of both. Maybe hang some from the lowest branches?

Double-sided tape around the tree skirt will discourage cats. Also cats typically don't like the smell of citrus. Put some orange peels around the tree.

Hello, most cats hate the smell of citrus and also the feel of aluminium (tin) foil. You can place foil around the bottom of the tree and spray absorbent fabric or pinecones with lemongrass essential oil and place in various pots in and surrounding the tree. The cats will avoid the areas where these are placed and keep your tree and the cat safe.

Other then putting a 8' high chain link fence around you tree there is only one way to keep cats away. remove the cats from that space.... Sorry

get a spray water bottle and spray your cats with water when they get on it. Cats hate water and hopefully this will deter their behavior.

I know the problem we had to stop putting up a tree because of our cats they thought the ornaments were to play with and they laid in the tree!

I purchase a spray at the pet store when my daughter had a cat. It was very effective in keeping her away but I did have to reapply every 2-3 days. If you don't want to go that route, you can train them with a bottle of water, spraying each time they get around it. But you risk getting wires and packages wet. They also don't like crunching sound so putting down aluminum foil would deter them. Spraying with citrus might also work, although it didn't for mine.

Bitter apple spray around the tree helped us. We also put foil under the tree skirt one season.

ITs pretty hard, I had to add plastic ornaments because my cat would not stop! He finally got tired of it.

Wrapping the base in aluminum foil is a physical deterrent, citronella, bitter apple,

pot potpourri, & Vicks Vapo rub are some others to put on cotton balls, they don't like the smell.

I started hanging bells from my tree after a cat chewed through the wore for the lights. The vet had a merrier Christmas than I did, but the kitty survived the burns and then infection that resulted. I hung little "jingle bells" on the bottom from then on, and the cats would play with the bells instead of climbing the tree. Good luck and stay safe!

Our cats climbed it for years and nothing we tried worked. I have to say one day, they just gave up on their own. Best of luck!
