My husband keeps his on the vanity top and it's unsightly. Any idea as to how I can hide it but keep it easily accessible?
A cute basket or bin to put them in to leave on the counter
We use the top nightstand drawer. You could make a cover out of a tissue box, cutting the top and inverting then cover with contact paper. Purchase a cheap jewelry or cigar box.
Thanks, Kathy. I did think of the cigar box as my husband is an avid cigar smoker and has a fabulous collection
That would be great I think. Bonus that it would fit his personality.
You can probably locate a nice looking box (those with an attachable magnetic lid) at a craft store in a size just a bit larger than his pill dispenser. Place it inside the attractive box.
Great idea, if I can find one that isn't feminine. Thanks!
How about a pretty doily or small towel?
Well, thought about this a bit more.Rather than appearance, I would be so glad to have my husband able to readily access his daily meds over the appearance of the bathroom vanity, as beautiful as it is & you have a very nice bathroom.
I missed the point initially, sorry. I don't mean to sound snarky, it is important to him to have his pills readily accessible to him so he can take his medication and you both can feel reassured he is on top of this.
Main point is out of sight, out of mind. Sometimes we all forget.
He's great at taking his meds. I'm the one who can't remember. I just want to make the vanity look better, not remove them. That's why I added "readily accessible" to my question.
Just like Kathy, I use a nightstand drawer. I also placed them in a pretty photo box from any craft store. My emergency supply is in a Ziploc bag in one of my dresser drawers. I also have the pets medicine handled in the same manner.
I keep putting them in the drawer and he takes them out. You know me; aesthetics mean nothing. It's all about convenience.
MEANT TO SAY, You know men.
I would put it inside a box decorated to match your bathroom.
I simply lay a masculine small cotton scarf on top of his meds box with a small note on top written in brown letters saying, " REMEMBER ME? " He simply slides the scarf back on after taking pills. They are in sight and kind of a pleasant reminder.
Hi Cynthia, you can make a storage book box to keep it in
Thanks for the great links! I'd love to make a box with a special photo on the cover.
You're welcome!! Happy New Year!! And I am going to try one of these too!
could you not put it in a drawer? or lay it behind a picture frame? I set timers on my phone to remind me take my meds and then just get my dispenser out of a drawer you can also find containers that look like books at the craft stores and you could put it in there..they come in many colors and sizes
No matter where I put it, it reappears next day exactly where you see it in the photo.
Hi you could use a tissue box cover. Small tissue box taped to inside of box. Space left can hide the Pill box, if you just pop the tissue box cover over it. Still functions as tissue box, but also hides the pills from view!
I like this. Thanks.
I made a cute box for our tv controllers. You could do something like that for your pill container and keep it inside. https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2019/10/how-to-hide-your-tv-remotes.html
Hi Cynthia: Well, one thing you can do is use the old hollowed out book trick :) Get a book that's a bit bigger and thicker than your container, draw around the container on about the 3rd or 4th page and cut along the lines, a bit outside of the lines, and continue doing this until you can fit the container in the book and close it. Then, put it on your shelf :) Good luck
Can't make myself cut up a book, but I could make a box to look like one, and put a title and great photo on the cover! Thank you.
Me either :) I just can't bring myself to destroy a book, no matter how horrible it was :) Some can, but I can't. Your idea is perfect :)
Hi! I gave my husband a box like this to keep his stuff in:
He loves boxes like that. Certainly would be the simplest thing to do. Thanks very much.
You are very welcome! Stay safe!
You could get a pretty decorative box or tin to keep the pill containers in. Or, a basket would work, too.
I did think of a basket, but decided it would take up too much room on that small countertop. I like the idea, though.
Your nightstand drawer would work. But if it's full like mine, you can do what I do. I keep a basket on my nightstand that I fill with faux decorative flowers, etc. You can stash the pill containers in the faux greenery on the nightstand - that's what I tend to do! You can see my basket here.
Hello could a decorative resin box be a suitable countertop way to disguise the pill container?
Yes, of course. A box or cover is the obvious answer and probably the only solution. Thanks.
Sometimes placing in a drawer makes it forgettable imho.
I have my larger pill container in my kitchen area near my canisters. My nighttime dispenser has only two nighttime pills and is very small.
Do you have a drawer in that vanity you could put the pills in?
Yeah, but he keeps taking them out of the drawer and putting them back on the vanity. That's why I need to camouflage them.
