Hi Kim, it sounds like your question is about a specific post. Do you remember what the post was about and we can help you find it? If you ask your question on the specific post you are referring to, the author will be able to tell you exactly which one she or he used.

If this is the post you saw, she stated it was a circular saw, otherwise you'll have to go back to the original post and ask your question there:

This is probably for a specific project but in general you would want to use a fine tooth blade on your saw so that you get a smooth cut.

  • You would have to ask your question on the specific post, Kim. That way, the author can tell you, but, if I had to guess, I'd say a circular saw, or a reciprocating saw would do the job.

are you trying to repurpose the dresser by cutting it in half?

  • Again, as others have said, I don't know what post, but you could use a sawzall (reciprocating saw).

Hi Kim, I would use a circular saw, snap a chalk line to follow to stay straight with the cut,

Hi! Generally, it is better to ask any questions about a post, at the bottom of the post in the question section. That way you will get a response to your question from the person who actually posted. I'll update my answer if I have any luck finding it, now that I 'm curious about it! Stay safe!

Hello! If it something that you saw in a Hometalk posted project, ask your question on that precise post.

This is a general Q&A posting area, the person who's project you're asking about would likely be unaware of your question about their project post. To get an answer about a specific post, ask the question directly below the project that will likely get you a reply from the Hometalk poster.

If you ever want to go back to see a particular project, just click on the little blue house at the top of this page, left-hand corner. If you can't find a particular project, you can use the search bar. Also, please consider checking out "Explore Projects" for even more additional ideas.

    Hope this helps.

If you don’t find the project, you could use a vibratory saw with a fine blade.

  • Try the search bar at the top left to seek out the project you were looking at to ask the original author. It’s hard to speculate otherwise.
