There's nothing like the thrill of the challenge of wanting to redecorate using what you already have on hand. However, my advice to you would be really think ahead and decide what you want the outcome to look like before you jump in and start make changes. Unlike myself......

After taking a look at some odds and ends I had around the cabin, I decided it was time to get on some jars and candle holders I was given that were collecting dust.

I also had this cute little pre lit jar I found in the States that I had been using to showcase beachy items.

I found some glue and got to work. I simply glued the candle sticks to the bottom of the jars and let them sit over night.

So this is where thinking ahead would've came in handy.....

Sure, they look great! Just not my colors.....

So after figuring out a way to cover what I didn't want to paint, I sprayed the bottoms grey with chalk paint.

Would've been sooo much easier to just spray the candle holders before being glued but, it is what it is......

Where I'm from, you are definitely not spraying anything outside this time of year. So, because I have this constant need to change every used item I find, I purchased a kids tent at Ikea and I use that to spray indoors. I put down a huge tarp first, under the tent and open the window a bit until I'm done. The tent has flaps that can close so once the item is sprayed, I close the flaps and leave it overnight.

Not that this is the smartest thing to do, but I'm a very impatient person when I get into DIY zone......

Once finished, I just threw in some snow and whatever I had laying around in regards to Christmas decorations. Next year, I just might take more time and actually plan out better before guests show up as to what I have put inside!
