A nail on the bottom of the sofa scratched my laminate flooring. It is about 1/16 of an inch wide. If I use wood filler how would I make it match?
When my old laminate floors used to come apart I’d put on rubber soled shoes and kick them back together.
it’s less than ideal - but a work around could be a tiny bead of glue before you shove them back together.
You need to "push" the pieces back together. You will probably have to pull away a threshold and trim. Then use a flat bar to nudge them back together.
Hello. Can you post a photograph of your flooring? Having an idea of the color pattern or style might give more information to get you specific answers.
Hi there, is it wood laminate that comes in "planks" then you will need to remove trim to tap it together. If its a threshold between two floors you can buy thresholds to cover gaps that look nice and match your flooring.
Use the rubber mallet to tap the board and close the gap.

There is a tool called a 'floor-gap fixer'. Here's a link to one:

Please post a picture so we can see what kind of gap you are talking about. If it is in the middle of the floor, you need to take off the trim and take apart the flooring and move it all back together with a mallet. If it is the threshold, you can go to Floor and Decor and buy trim to fix that gap. If it is a tiny gap, you can use color wood filler, and sand it down to fill the space.

Hi Sandy, here's another idea you can try - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmSSxZ9_KLQ
Hello there,
I had a water leak in my kitchen and some of the laminate wood flooring shrunk on the narrow end, so I mixed up wood filler and wax crayon shavings together to make a paste and used that to fill the gaps. No a perfect fit of colour ( I didn't have the right crayons etc. but it has filled the gaps until I find I do have the right colour filler, and then I might dig it out and start again. Best wishes.
