Hello. I’ve seen bloggers cut up aluminum cans with scissors and craft with them. For example they traced leaf shapes unto the flattened can sheet and made a wreath out of it.

People have used "flat" beer as a hair rinse. I would think that expired beer would still work for this. Definition of flat is beer that has been exposed to air for 8-10 hours. Work a try?

  • The cans can be recycled or used for crafts and here's a link with ways to use the flat beer:

Actually, the date mentioned on most beer bottles isn’t the expiration date. It’s called the pull date.

Generally, the beers contain a” Best By,” “Best if Used By,” “Best Before”, or “Best When Used By” date but this is not an expiration date, it is the estimation done by the beer maker of how long the beer will remain at its peak quality.

If you want to maximize the shelf life of canned or bottled beer, store the beer at a lower temperature between 45° F and 55° F (colder than the normal room temperature) in the fridge or refrigerator. Proper storing of the beer will normally stay at high quality for about 5 to 6 months when stored at room temperature

Oxidation of beer can be easily done by light exposure. Brown bottles or Dark bottles contain beer are better at keeping the exposure of the light than the bright color or transparent bottles, But canned beers are better than all of them.

Most of the canned beers are made up of aluminum which doesn’t allow the light inside of the can helps to preserve the freshness. You can notice the typical bottles have enough space for air. But, Beer cans are specifically designed to form an airtight seal, make sure that the beer inside would not be exposed to air.

Hi John. You could use your flat beer in marinades, especially for beef and chicken. AND you could make a "beer can chicken" Just season a whole chicken and pull it over a beer can. So that the can is up the but. Wiggle it if you need to. then place the chicken on a cookie sheet and roast it for a hour and a half. Yummy.

Look for recipes. Beer batter fish is a great one. Some cakes even have beer in them. Being past the expiration date may make the flat or taste a little wonky but still good for cooking. Tons of recipes online.

  • I've seen it used in a lot of DIY beauty products.
