Do you have a recommendation for colors required to make a finished product similar to this?
Antiquing wax should be right next to the chalk paints where you purchase that in your area. Some are brown some some are black. This looks like a black glaze. Behr makes them and that is carried by Lowe's.
Thanks so much!
This project on hometalk reminded me of that look. I believe she has the details on how she did it on her blog: https://www.hometalk.com/28521651/bohemian-painted-dresser
Thank you very much for taking the time to find and send the link!! Beautiful finish
Valspar makes glazes for paint. You may want to look at what they have available.
You might want to look into the metallic glazes now availalbe. They give a sophisticated vibe to painted furniture pieces.
Looks like Green underneath with a grey dry brush over the top to me, but it is difficult really to see very well. Practice the affect on a piece of card or the back of the dresser first before going ahead with the entire project, to be sure you have it right!
Yes, for sure. I project during lock down!!
Hello. I suspect this is a black acrylic glaze over a teal paint base color. It is exciting furniture finish!
The bigger the amount of contrast between the base and the glaze, along with the brightness of the color of the base, the more it looks antiqued.
Behr make a faux glaze that is an excellent product. For an interesting result, mix a small amount of the paint with part of the glaze. It might be a good idea to practice on an inconspicuous part.
Hi! I may be wrong, but it looks like Unicorn Spit, which gives you depth like that. Stay safe!
It does look like unicorn spit. I remember seeing this colour and asking for the recipe. I did follow it but the colour was not the same these are the colours they said to use. 3 part blue thunder to 1 part dragon belly.
Black glaze applied sparingly over teal should get it. Take a look at Homestead blue by Fusion mineral paint.
Looks like teal paint with black wax on top
Take pic into local paint store and use their color match system and compare to swatches they have in stock...
I found some colors here! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/448811919122961860/
