Unless its a sterile plant with no pollen, its gonna attract bees.
flowers = bees so I would go with leafy shrubs and maybe some bamboo. Or do flowers far away from the areas that you sit if you are allergic to stings.
Have you considered artificial flowers?
Zinnia and marigold come to mind.
