DIY TV Top Shelf From Paint Sticks
Learn how to make a TV top shelf that can hold lightweight items, including modems and decor. The key thing you need is paint sticks!
Here are the basic supplies needed. Paint sticks, tongue depressors (4) a hand saw, glue gun, wood glue and small screws.
You will need to measure your specific TV or monitor. Most are similar but some have various things sticking out of the back so you may need to adust your legs for that.
Glue your paint sticks together.
We used 4 for our shelf.
After they dry you can add brace pieces made from tongue depressors.
The "legs" are made from two tongue depressors glued together with a hole punched through the end. You will need 2 sets.
Drill a hole in the end of a measured dowl. This is what you will screw the "legs" into on each side.
Attach the legs as shown. These will be tightened once placed on your tv.
Paint your shelf whatever color you like.
This is the final shelf ready to use.
Adjust the legs as needed then tighten the screws in each.
You can place lightweight decor items on your shelf or even a modem.
