How to paint aluminum?
I just bought a vintage saddle mate aluminum spring kids ride. It is down to the "bare" aluminum and I want to paint it ... it will be outdoors ... not used, display only. I do not want it to look brand new, and am wondering what paint I should use and any special prep. Thank you.

Rustoleum is always my go-to when it comes to anything I need to last - I've even used it on wood. Its thick, oil based, and its very very tough.
Rustoleum has a paint for every kind of outside or inside project. You can get it in metal colors, hammered metal colors, etc. and it will be protected from the elements too

Hello there,
Buy Aluminium Primer, once dry you can paint Undercoat and then Gloss paint!
This should help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNBQeP-WAE8
Make sure it's clean. Wipe it down with mineral spirits to remove any oxidation. Prime with auto primer then paint with a metal paint. Rustoleum is what I recommend
We painted out entire aluminum patio set with Rustoleum spray paint. Works great, holds up perfectly.
Hello. We refurbished an older mesh patio set ( it was superior to what they sell jow) with Rustoleum universal spray paint. It made it look better than new. Hope this helps.
If there’s corrosion (greenish white), I would “sand” that off with a wad of aluminum foil first. Wipe off residue with dollar store rubbing alcohol.
I would take it apart vs trying to mask the heck out of it, before priming it, but it’s your choice.
