I made cute, affordable match stick holders with everyday items.

I saw an adorable match stick holder in a boutique store. I saw the price and decided maybe I should try a DIY.

I had a small vintage creamer I got at an antique store and an old ink bottle found on a hike. These were great for small matches.

I also decided to use a glass yogurt container for some larger matches.

I used matte spray paint to paint the yogurt container. It took a few coats to get it completely covered.

I knew I needed something to strike the matches on. I ordered these peel and stick striking strips from Amazon.

I cut them to size to fit the bottom.of each container and simply stuck them on.

I found green tipped wooden matches at Walmart. They were very inexpensive. I got two sizes. Small and safety matches.

The safety matches were pretty long so I cut them down to about 3 inches long.

Then I added the matches to my cute new match strike holders.

I love the way they turned out! Now I can display the matches close to my candles!
