I can a lot of food and reuse my rings year after year, but when they some rust on them, it's time to turn them into crafts. They are the perfect size for coasters, so that's what I did with some that were too rusty to use but still looked good. You can also use new canning rings and lids to make this.
How to Make Rustic Farmhouse Coasters With Canning Rings
Learn how to make rustic farmhouse drink coasters with canning rings. This are very easy to make, and you can easily change the theme of the design by using different supplies.
You will need:
- Canning rings and lids
- Farmhouse stickers
- Cork
- Brushes
- Glue Gun
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Pencil or pen
Start by tracing a lid on the cork and cutting it out.
Then add a sticker to the center of the cork circles.
Seal both sides of the cork with a thin layer of Mod Podge. Let dry for an hour between coats.
Then glue the cork on top a lid and then glue the lid inside the rings.
Your farmhouse coasters are ready to use as soon as the hot glue sets up. If you want a different theme, just use different stickers. Make sure they measure less than 2.5 inches so they fit inside the canning ring.

Finally a coaster that makes sense! I see so many with tile and resin that will allow the condensation to run right off onto your furniture and serve little purpose. Yet they are posted all of the time. This is a great idea.
