Orange Chia Goats Milk Soap
I have to admit, I didn't even know there was such a thing as goats milk melt and pour soap base until recently. But once I found out how easy it is to make homemade soaps, I quickly fell in love with these goat milk soap recipes!
This is just one of three recipes I have. Check out my other goats milk soap recipes on my original post.
Chia seeds are a great exfoliant for the skin. Plus, the seeds just look pretty! If you already have some chia seeds in the pantry, then it's easy to make!
Now, I know one of the first questions you'll have is wondering if the chia seeds go bad or get nasty in the soap over time. They are a food based product. Yes, they'll spoil before the goats milk base normally would. So I'd suggest making these as gifts or for yourself and using within a few days to a couple weeks. They could last a lot longer, but I haven't tried that.
This recipe made 8 bars for me.
Supplies
- 2 lbs. goats milk soap base
- ½ cup chia seeds
- 25 drops orange essential oil
- Silicone molds
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan melt the soap base down to liquid on medium heat. Do not boil!
- Remove from the heat and mix in chia seeds and essential oils. Stir until all of the seeds are coated and in the soap base.
- Pour into the molds and set aside to set overnight.
These melt and pour soap base recipes are so easy!

Hi, won't the chia seeds turn into a thick gel once they are soaked in water by using them in the bar? Am wondering about the plumbing getting clogged.
