I found two of these end tables on my travels down south. I fell in love with their lines and classic look. Of course, at the time, I didn't know what I would use them for but, I just knew I had to have them!

While one sat in the shed for many years, the other was quickly chalk painted and used as a sunroom table. I didn't seal the chalk paint as I wasn't sure that would be the final use for it and I'm glad I didn't.

It was pretty warn and tired looking when I decided I wanted to put it in the master bedroom at the cottage.

Just a basic white at the time worked but now I was tired of it.

I gave it a quick wash and got to sanding the top.

I didn't realize how beautiful the wood grain was at the time, I'm usually a just paint everything kinda gal, knowing that nothing is permanent.

What amazing markings!

This time, I decided to make those interesting patterns stand out. I had a mixture of chalk paint and water left over from another project so I decided to give it a try.

I just painted the mixture on, let it sit for a minute or so, then wiped it off.

So far I have not sealed it. I'm unsure of what I will use. I do know I want it more of a matt finish then shiny so I'll do some looking around and go from there.

This is her home for now, guess we'll see how I feel in a few months.....but I'm loving it so far!

Just wondering if the bench in this photo was professionally reupholstered or did you diy? I need to learn how to do it for my bench

I chalk painted that too 😁

I think it's one of my projects on here.

Next time I'll probably reupholster it though.
