Adding shelves and doors to old bureau?

Hi-I want to convert an old bureau to a kitchen shelf unit. Although I've seen examples I'm not sure how to do it. Not elaborate just a functional transformed unit.

The biggest hurdle is to make it no longer look like a dresser. Changing hardware and painting would go a long way to that end. Also, look at changing the legs/feet of the piece to more or an island. You may want to consider taking out a couple of drawers and changing to doors with shelves.

Great idea! Did you search on Hometalk? Try the search bar at the top left, I’m sure there are tutorials on the site. If not, adding simple strips of wood inside to hold the shelves should help you.
