How can I find paint to match unfinished birch??
I've added 2 new unfinished base cabinets with birch veneer to my kitchen. I had planned to paint all the base cabinets, but find that I like the color of the birch. Now, I want to paint the old base cabinets to match the new ones.

Take the birch cabinet door or drawer to your local home improvement store and ask to have it color matched. They can provide you with the appropriate cabinet paint to use in nearly the exact color of your new unpainted birch cabinetry. Remember that prep of the old cabinets is key. A good stainblocking primer used first will ensure a great outcome. Good luck, it sounds like you have a plan!
Its not going to be exact because of the variation in wood grain but I would remove one small cabinet door and take it to the paint store for a match
Look at the stains in Home Depot or Lowe's. There are many shades of stain not just wood colors. I used grey on my shed door and the grain shows thru beautifully.
