Giant Outdoor Easter Basket

I want to show you this cute giant outdoor Easter basket that I made from an old bushel basket. While people are taking extra walks outside these days, I wanted to make our house as cheerful as can be when they walk past.I rescued this discarded apple bushel basket (including the lid!) from my neighbor’s trash more than a year ago. It has some imperfections. I don’t know if it is vintage or not, but it looks just like 1950’s vintage apple bushel baskets on Etsy. I wanted to use it in my fall decorations, but that didn’t ever really work out.

I spray painted the basket a light baby pink, known as candy pink.

I turned an empty potting container upside down in the basket to help fill it out. (Later I added a blanket around it after the eggs settled down too far.)

Then I put some green tulle netting around the top to simulate Easter basket grass. I’m sure that I didn’t buy mine and that someone had given it to me. I love it when people give me craft supplies.

I had bought these plush Peeps awhile back this year. I am so glad I did! ***To see another way I used one of the plush Peeps, go to Jelly Bean Garland.***

Someone had given me a bunch of Easter eggs that had been cut off of picks. They were perfect for poking the cut off picks down into the netting.

Isn’t this the perfect outdoor nest for Easter?!

I added a bunny on the side, which gives my outdoor Easter basket just the right touch, I think. I do have to bring everything in when it rains, and at night.

What about you? Do you decorate outdoors for Easter?
