How can I raise up this desk?

Hi! One method is to raise it up on a platform. I did that when I turned a children's desk into a moveable kitchen island. I'm sure you could modify the platform for leg room. It would still basically be a box to raise it up. Good luck!

Add the same size boards to the bottom to the height you want glue and clamp to dry. Add an aluminum band (like from roof flashing) around it or copper and nail to the back edge so you can't see the nail holding the band in place. Both easy to cut and bend and would look like the band was always there.

You could make some blocks for the legs to sit into. Similar to how you can buy blocks to raise the height of sofas for people with mobility issues. Made out of oak and finished like the desk and it could look ok.

This antique desk has 1/4 Sawn “Tiger” Oak legs and I would make larger plinth block legs that either dowel or screw into the bottoms.

They should be at least 1/4 wider in both axis with rounded over shoulders.

Most lumber yards have chop saws & panel saws- as you want precise cuts.

My first instinct is to add a platform. Second thought would be to add bun type to the bottom of each leg. They screw into the bottom of the existing legs.

You can buy legs and the ball feet in different sizes online and in Home Depot etc (you can look at them online at Home Depot) that might be the simpliest way to go

Hello. Lovely desk. Building a platform or a custom made pegged block would probably be the most pleasing way to raise the desk.

Elevating plastic bed frame risers might be in unattractive but economical choice.

Lastly I saw this on TV programming......I am not sure if using painted brown PVC piping potentially might damage to your existing wood legs unlss tyey are custom casted.

First off I must say, what a super gift you were given! Love the desk! I would suggest possibly buying a wooden newel post and cut two solid pieces so that the piece would go front leg to back leg for both sides of the desk. Place the desk on the cut pieces and steady them with braces or strong adhesive. And either paint or stain to match the desk. Hope this helps.

Cut the bottom of the legs off and then attach new ones. You can buy premade table legs that are the right height.
