Epoxy Over Laminate Counters
I think I have heard they are not heat resistant
Since I'm not the original poster, my info may not be of much use too you; however, my daughter & her busband used Rustoleum "Rock Solid" epoxy for their formica countertops when they first renovated their new to them home. It is a 2-part epoxy and was an excellent choice for them to have for a few years before they purchased new quartz countertops that were professionally installed. The Rock Solid looked fantastic for several years and seemed to be invincible. I believe it was originally intended for garage or concrete floors. It has a nice shiny finish and it self-leeling and was very easy to care for as a counter.
You could always give a fresh coat every year to freshen it up
