How to line kitchen cabinet shelfs?

Heres a step by step how to, you can choose the product to line you shelves and not necessarily go with what they suggest.

When we were poor, I even used newspaper as a liner because it was we could afford at the time. Now I use the non-slip rubber shelf liner from the Dollar Tree, it works well, removes easily and easy to clean-limited colors though:

Hi Jim, I use the same mesh-like shelf liner that Redcatccrec mentions. I like it because it is lightweight and helps diminish sound of scraping or clanking when placing items on the shelves. In the past, I've also used newspaper gift wrap, and contact paper. There's a wide variety of choices, so it's truly your preference.

Hi Jim, I found inexpensive placemats at my local thrift store that I cut to size, I find they stay in place better without having to make them "permanent" and washing them off is easy.

Measure the area and cut your liner to fit. I would recommend leaving the backing on contact paper or using the rubber type that is slip resistant.

You can get a roll of the liner at the dollar store. Cheap peel and stick tiles work too.

I use wall paper. Don't wet it like you would to put it on the wall. It is just that it is durable. Contact paper is a nightmare for me to work with smoothing and removing air pockets and often leaves a sticky residue when you remove it. Cut the wall paper to size and fold a small lip inward and tape at the two sides where you can't see the tape. It wears pretty well. When it gets a little ratty, you have a TON of it left on the roll to replace it. I use it under my sink as well.

Hi Jim: This is pretty easy, just get some shelf lining and cut it to size. Personally, I don't like that rubber type as you can't slide dishes in and out easily. It's o.k. for cups and glasses, but I don't care for it for my dishes, so I use a slick surface for them. If you get the rubber type that isn't slip resistant, you can use whatever is left over to put under the dogs dish, plant pots on the windowsill, and in your tool box :) Hope this helps.

I have used contact paper but if you take it off it will take off part of the paper sealed onto the shelves so I suggest using peel and stick tiles or this item
