Hi, I'm Amber Oliver! I hope if you enjoy this project you'll also stop by my blog!

Need some vertical storage in your living room? How about making a wooden blanket ladder?

You only need 3 boards and 8 bolts to make this this DIY blanket ladder! This living room blanket storage idea seriously couldn’t be easier!! Materials

  • Three 1x3x6 Boards
  • Eight Carriage Bolts
  • Spray Paint

Tools

  • Drill

Instructions

  1. Cut one of the 1x2x6 boards into four 18-inch sections.

Stain or paint your wood.Drill evenly spaced holes on each side of the two 1x2x6 boards then drill corresponding holes on each side of the 18 inch boards.

Spray paint your bolts.

You can do whatever size wood you want for the project and could even make it taller if you wanted.

I chose carriage bolts because I liked the round head, but if you already have hex bolts or something else on hand you can use those! The flat tips are better though (won’t poke or scratch!!).

To paint my blue bolts, I stuck them in a piece of styrofoam to hold them in place and added a quick coat of spray paint.

How far do the bolts stick out on the back? What size bolts did you use?

LOVE the blue bolts!!! They gave just enough color to make your ladder really unique and pretty.

I agree. That little bit of color really adds to your project.
