I would highly recommend going to a free standing paint store like Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams. They are trained much better than the big box stores to help you to pick the correct formula for this application. If you sign up for emails, Sherwin Williams sends 30 - 40% off coupons regularly. I've never painted brick in blue, just "whitewash" with thinned white latex.

you can do it just realize that the blue will likely be permanent and you can paint over the glue but won’t be able to get the original brick back without a ton of elbow grease and chemicals

Seal the wall first, otherwise it will need many coats of paint!

Sounds beautiful. The right primer will make a world of difference - get it tinted the blue color and save yourself some coats of paint.

Totally agree with the above about getting the primer tinted. Make sure it is also a stain blocking primer. I think the cobalt blue would look absolutely beautiful.. Get your paint at a paint store, either Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore, and make sure it is good for brick.

Awesome project. Clean, prime and use a masonry paint and it should have outstanding results.

This is for paint brick fireplace but the same concept for walls. For the glazed llok just use high gloss polyurethane after you paint. Usually three coats of ploy will work.

You’ll need to get the blue in gloss. If that’s not glossy enough, you can apply a clear gloss sealer over it. Make sure the bricks are well sealed and there’s no option for moisture from behind.
