I always love seeing a beautiful pantry. Unfortunately, with two kids, mine is far from beautiful or in order! I love seeing beautiful boxes and baskets in well organized pantries; but wow, can those get expensive!!

I was putting my groceries away, and realized the heavy-duty cardboard food boxes, could easily be used as well. Of course, they are not so pretty. I am going to show you how a roll of contact paper can transform a cardboard box into a pretty pantry storage box!

I had some boxes and containers leftover from my recent Costco trip; so I decided they would make great storge boxes for my pantry revamp.

Make sure to choose strong cardboard boxes.

I started by cutting off all four of the side flaps.

I had this contact paper on hand; so decided to use it. I found this roll at the local Walmart for around $7.

After opening the contact paper roll, I measured it around the box, before cutting the paper. Of course, you could use a measuring tool and make measurements of the box and paper; but this was way easier.

After measuring out the paper, over the box, I made my cuts. As you can see, the paper did not cover the ends of the box. I had to cut separate pieces of the paper to fit them.

Once the paper was measured and cut, I found it easier to place the box directly on the paper. This could be difficult as well. Make sure you have your box placed on the right spot of the paper. If not, you may struggle to remove the box from the sticky paper.

Once I place the paper around the box, I cut a slit in the contact paper, at the corners. This made it easier to fold the paper over the top of the box.

Once I cut slits in the corner of the paper, I just folded the paper down onto the inside of the box. I decided not to add paper to the inside of my box; but you are welcome to do so.

The boxes look great in my pantry. If nothing else, it's a great alternative until you find something more elaborate and pretty!
