Spray the weeds with just plain white vinegar, be sure to cover the areas you do not want to kill, it cannot tell the difference between weeds, flowers , and grass.

Recipes using natural household products can be a way to eliminate your weeds, these very helpful links from Hometalk are a great a great synopsis.

Pulling or spraying an herbicide are the best options. You can put sand in the gaps or mortar after you have all the weeds removed.
