My front porch is really awkward, how should I decorate it? Wouldn’t mind having some chairs or a bench but where would I put it?

I would put a small bench to the right side on the "nook" side towards the front a bit. I would get a nice little table and put some potted plants there.

    How about a porch swing?

Or a glider. No installation required!

A smaller table and chair on one side would be a great place to sit with a beverage and a book; Use two chairs, if there is enough room.

the nook area could use rocking chairs, a nice bench or even a glider

add plants in colorful pots and it will bring it to life

Hi Mindy, it looks as though you have an ideal corner to place a couple of small decorative chairs with a table in the corner or possibly a footstool in front of them. A few colorful plants would look nice and add some curb appeal. Depending on where you live you might hang some plants from the edge of your porch as well. A ccoloful outdoor rug could also add color and comfort and really add some bling! Maybe a narrow bench towards the edge of the porch as well. Have fun with your project....often getting started is the most difficult.

Hello. What a gorgeous porch. I should think of bench under the window would be an attractive placement also some flowering annuals or perennials in planter pots could be very exciting.

How about a little 3 piece bistro set or a bench...Love the brick by the way...enjoy!

You have a LOT of good things going on here. I'd put a pretty little garden bench in front of the window, maybe in a complementary color to brighten it up. But a plain black or wood would be fine, too. Maybe a little accessory table to hold a cup of tea/coffee or a nice iced tea while you sit. Across the front, I'd get a handsome horizontal planter that will fill the space nicely. Height of the planter itself and the height of the plants you put in it is your judgement call, depending on whether you want a feeling of enclosure for your bench!

I would lighten the color of your trim to bring more light into the area.

Must have some seating even if just a bench.

Add colorful throw pillow to the bench.

A coffee table of end table to sit drinks on.

An outdoor speaker to provide music.

What kind of lighting do you have?

Some color pots and plants would brighten the area.

If privacy is a factor consider seating that also provides some degree of privacy.

I agree the two kinds of brick, shutters one color, columns another is a lot going on.

You can dye the floor bricks either the color of the shutters or the column.

The new furniture & pots should compliment each other, in terms of color and scale.

A bistro set in the area to the right in front of the window in a bright color would be cute. You could put down a rug and add a few plants on stands towards to the columns.

Left of the front door I would add two chairs and a small table in between. A cluster of potted colorful plants. In the corner nook a printed outdoor rug and small L-shaped sectional with table, additional potted plants. Adding candles will also give your special place some nice warmth.

Lots of room for a couple chairs and a small table. Also some flowers in pots to add some color...

What a lovely home and beautiful porch area--lucky you! A swing between the posts where the downspout is would be so fun and welcoming. Then (if room allows) 2 chairs and a small round table in front of the window under the fan. To the left of the front door, a bench with a couple of large shade loving plants. Or, leave out the swing or bench and do a collection of gorgeous various size (large, not a bunch of small) planters and/or hanging baskets. At the end of the porch that doesn't have a window, hang a metal art piece, outdoor mirror, wall hung fountain, etc. Although I've offered at lot of suggestions, overall keep it streamlined. If you choose lots of seating, keep the plants to a minimum. It is a "room." Keep your decor co-ordinated (not matchy, matchy) and make it a place you would want to hang out. I know it will be gorgeous:)

Hi Mindy, I would put the bench by the wall that the door is on, and a couple chairs by the window, and a table in front of the bench, and a rug if you like

You could do some rocking chairs with a little table in between. Some potted flowers would be nice
