How do I clean a black watermark from a windowsill?

One of my plants leaked and stained the windowsill. I have sanded it, cloroxed it, oiled it and nothing has made a difference. Help!
Oxalic acid. Mix it in water and wipe it on the stain. Let it dry and repeat if necessary.

However, this is a poisonous organic acid, so wear gloves and eye protection before handling, and follow all safety and application instructions on the packaging. Mix 2 tablespoons of oxalic acid into 8 ounces of hot water. Dampen a sponge with the solution and lightly rub the sponge across the water mark. Let the wood dry completely. If the spot is not completely removed, apply the solution again.
