Help with ceiling light covers?
House has high loft ceilings. There are many ceiling lights that have the old-fashioned globe covers with 3.25" fitter base. Would like to replace the globes with something open at the bottom (lower end when hanging) so we can more easily replace burned out bulbs by just reaching up, while on ladder, and unscrewing bulb instead of having to reach even further to unscrew the whole globe first. Cannot seem to find any such cover on the market that has the proper size 3.25 base, but is open at other end. Do any of you have any ideas or a source of such a product?

Hello. Are you looking for clear, white or frosted glass. We purchased some open globes at Lowes. They sold the lighting bar separately to allow for custom light cover combos.
Here's some more on Amazon:

I just looked at Lamps plus and they have options also.
You can try Menard's. Home Depot, or Lowes.
If you want to keep the same style of bulb cover then my suggestion is to switch from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs. Besides not creating heat, and requiring less electricity to operate, LED bulbs will last multiple times longer than a comparable wattage of incandescent bulb, reducing the number of times changing of a bulb is necessary. For optimal results, purchase bulbs with a quality brand name.
You will most likely need to either patch the Sheetrock or add a decorative medallion fit thus type conversion. You might be able to find a chandelier type fixture that would work. I would first try big box stores and look for lighting specialty stores near you.
You could always add a medallion to fit the space if the light you find is smaller
