Need suggestions for a wall divider ... ?

I want to put up a wall divider between our casual farmhouse dining room area and the open floor plan which extends into the entranceway then living area. The house was built in the mid1980's ... I want something that defines the dining area yet is able to be "seen thru" if that makes sense!!!

I am thinking backless bookcases that you could put decor items on or just as easily leave empty that won't look abandoned. Since it's farmhouse, reclaimed barn wood might work.
Are you looking to build something or buy something? You can find all sorts of shelving units that are open. Search online for those and/or ideas you can assemble.
