Lighting fixture help!

I have hideous popcorn ceilings. Until I can either cover or remove them, I’m stuck with them in my small condo. I would like to change out the lighting but in other places in the house the replacement popcorn where the replacement occurred looked terrible. I am looking for a cosmetic band aid. I would like to perhaps cover with a nice drum shade. But I’m not sure how to affix it. Any thoughts on better lighting options?

You could use a flush mount light and find something that is larger than you have to cover up the hole

Hi, I would first remove the existing light and confirm you have a ceiling joist that you can hangs some weight. Inspect the wiring and make sure the box is properly secured. Now you should be able to hang most lights from the existing box...

I’m curious, was the poor popcorn repair patching done while you were there? Can you have it ready-done under warranty?
Are you allowed to remove the popcorn ceilings per the Condo Rules?
I would measure the width of this fixture and then I would look for a fixture you like with a similar base size. A lot of them have standard sizes and the you don't have to interrupt the popcorn.

I would put a medallion or if you are handy, make your own out of thin plywood. Paint, and nail to the ceiling. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and look at the light fixtures, they have tons, and hang what you love.
The drum shade would affix to the light fixture hardware. If you’re unable to do find a fixture that works, you can get a ceiling medallion.
