Hello Romona, you can use a good satin finish paint and a good 4-6 inch brush to paint your door. If you want to dress it up even more, here's a video that shows how along with paint instructions. Hope this helps.

It’s a pretty straightforward project - you should do fine! Clean And sand the door, clean again. Roll on a good quality primer and then roll on the paint.
Use 2 thin coats of primer.Don't worry if the first coat lets the wood show through. The 2nd coat will fix that. Then use 2 coats of high quality paint.
Get some interior primer and brush or roll on two coats then use a latex paint same way, brush or roll on.
Prime with a good stain blocking primer, then use a roller and paint with latex paint. or you can lightly sand down the doors and stain if they were not previously painted. General Finishes makes a wonderful stain product.

You can use Behr, Prime and Paint, all in 1 can, here's how:

Clean with TSP, prime with Kilz orZinsser Bullseye, then paint. The best method would be if you can take them down and spray them. If not, rolling would be second best. Brush is the most difficult, because of brush strokes showing. If you have to brush paint, invest in a really good brush like Purdy.

I would just get some primer paint and go to it!
Make sure you clean the doors well before priming!
Remove the door and take off hinges and knob. Prime with stain killer primer. Roll on a couple of coats of good quality paint. You could also add some trim if you want to jazz up the door. Done.
