HOW TO CONVERT A CHINA CABINET INTO A TV CABINET?

I have an antique china cabinet with windowed doors. I would like to take out the wood in the middle that allows the doors to key lock and thus have an open structure to house my living room tv elegantly. Can I take out that wood bar?

How many doors are there? Are there shelves? Is there glass? What kind of a weight burden is there on the wood you want to remove?
You could try tapping that bar out gently or sawing it out.

Usually that bar isn’t structural. It’s usually just there for the doors to latch to. You could be ok. But the shelf inside was designed for the weight of plates and tea cups. It may need reinforced for a tv
If the center bar isn't used to hold up the top, you should be OK. Otherwise, you'll lose the integrity of the piece of furniture.

Yes, but be sure you are not weakening structure. If so you could use "L" shape bracket to support top

You should be able to do that easily. Use a jigsaw or vibratory saw for a close cut.
will a flat screen TV fit into that space? I would measure the height and width first to be sure your TV will fit-

Yeah you can remove the center post. it's just there for closure of the doors.

please be aware of potential heat problems using wooden cabinetry. We actually purchased a new wooden TV cabinet and ended up sawing openings in the reverse rear side to allow the electronic equipment to stay cool. It seem to be overheating.
It’s possible you might need to do the same to you your reverse side back panel of your cabinet —-if —-your electronic equipment becomes unhappy.
You should be able to take that part out. After you do, give the cabinet a little wiggle test to make sure it's still stable. If it's not, you might need to stabilize it in another fashion.
